Institutional statement
Friday, 3rd November, 2017. Ramon Llull University expresses its great concern about the political and social situation that we are experiencing in this country and deplores yesterday’s imprisonments dictated by the National Court.
We continue to demand the most scrupulous respect for the values that support all democratic societies, and we express our disappointment that all the calls for dialogue have not been fruitful and that there is no political solution to a conflict that is political in nature.
As a university, we commit ourselves to promoting peaceful coexistence, rejecting confrontation, and we call on our community to maintain serenity, respect for the diversity of choices and opinions, and to continue working, as our creed expresses it, "at the service of the Christian spirit, at the service of Catalonia, and at the service of a free, pluralistic and democratic society".
