The Equality and Diversity Unit is the structure responsible for providing support to the university community of the Ramon Llull University to ensure gender equality, inclusion and non-discrimination on grounds of sex, religion or disability, or any other condition or personal or social circumstance, in all activities and functions of the University. The Unit also has a disability service.

The main functions of the Equality and Diversity Unit (UID) are to develop the following activities:

  1. Coordinate the commissions linked to the Equality and Diversity Unit.
  2. To prepare reports, at the request of the governing bodies and federated institutions, on the activity of the Equality and Diversity Unit or on equality, inclusion and non-discrimination.
  3. To carry out diagnostic studies on equality, inclusion and discrimination.
  4. Propose action plans related to gender equality, gender violence, gender discrimination, disability and attention to students with specific educational needs.
  5. To elaborate, implement and monitor and evaluate the equality and diversity plans of the URL.
  6. To elaborate, follow up and participate in the different protocols for prevention, detection and action against discrimination and non-inclusion, gender violence, sexual harassment, harassment based on sex, sexual orientation or gender expression.
  7. Support and advise federated institutions and affiliated centers on what they may need in the implementation of their equality, inclusion and non-discrimination policies.
  8. Support and advise Universitat Ramon Llull Fundació staff who suffer situations related to the areas of action of the Equality and Diversity Unit.
  9. Organize awareness or training sessions on equality, inclusion and non-discrimination.
  10. Provide answers to public or private organizations on issues related to equality, inclusion and non-discrimination.
  11. To link and be an active part of those public or private entities with which there are synergies in terms of equality, inclusion and non-discrimination.
  12. Facilitate the stay at the University of those people who need specific attention or support because of their disability, whether permanent or temporary.
  13. Act as a liaison and disseminate among the federated institutions and affiliated centers the information that reaches the Equality and Diversity Unit (call for scholarships, job placement programs, publications, conferences...).

The UID will approach this set of functions from a holistic and intersectional perspective. In addition, it will cooperate with other working groups of the University that deal with issues that benefit the well-being and coexistence of the University community.
