URL comes top in U-Ranking's Teaching productivity among private Catalan universities in Spain
This third U-ranking analyses private universities excelling in Teaching productivity, for the first time
Monday 16 Mach 2015. The BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (Ivie) have published the third U-Ranking, which assesses the teaching, research and innovation activity of Spanish universities.
New in this third edition is the fact that the study included private universities in Spain. Specifically, it analysed 59 of the 83 universities in the Spanish university system.
The study proposes three specific rankings (teaching, research, innovation) and two general ones (volume of results and productivity).
The URL came in fifth place in the Productivity ranking
The study, in which there are both public and private universities, concludes that the various levels of productivity show the diversity of our university system.
According to the study, private universities excel in teaching productivity: seven of the eleven private universities analysed occupy the first four places in the ranking for Teaching. The URL occupies second place, and is the top private Catalan university in Spain for productivity.
The classification by volume of results analyses Spanish universities without taking the size of each one into account. In this ranking the URL came first among the private universities and, according to the report, both the URL and the University of Navarre stand out clearly from the other private universities in Spain:"With the exception of the Ramon Llull University and the University of Navarre, the remaining private universities are at the bottom of the list".
