Noelia Medina, student of the ESDi, wins the packaging contest by Nomen Earth
Wednesday, 5 February 2020. Noelia Medina, 4th-year student of the Undergraduate Degree in Audiovisual Design, has won the packaging design contest organised by the rice brand Nomen Earth. Noelia’s proposal was focused on the sentence: “100% of the benefits for the environment”. To do this, she turned the typical rice packaging design from vertical to horizontal.
Conveying the idea of a natural and ecological product was fundamental, and that is why Noelia decided to opt for different shades of green and a wood texture. According to José Luis Gallego, environmental campaigner and ideologist of Nomen Earth, the packaging designed by Noelia “reflects the central values of the initiative: commitment, sustainability and common effort”.
Last December, Noelia visited Nomen’s facilities, saw the final packaging of the product for the first time and collected the 1,000 euro prize for winning the design competition.
The packaging designed by Noelia can now be found in selected supermarkets.
