Students and teachers reflect on the SDGs with "Driving Global Change - SACRU Contribution to a Sustainable Future"
Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The SACRU Alliance has published "Driving Global Change – SACRU Contribution to a Sustainable Future", a compendium of opinion pieces on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The publication includes 14 reflections from students and faculty of Australian Catholic University (Australia), Boston College (USA), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile), Sophia University (Japan), Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portugal), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), and Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain), members of SACRU.
The dossier addresses topics such as mental health (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), AI in education (Ramon Llull University), climate action (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), access to water (Boston College), fostering biodiversity (Sophia University), meaning in institutions (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), and collaboration for sustainable development (Australian Catholic University). Each publication consists of an article by a member of the Teaching and Research Staff and a video opinion from a student of one of the universities in the alliance.
This document reflects an international, interdisciplinary, and intergenerational approach with a diversity of perspectives when working together to face the challenges of the SDGs, responding to the mission of SACRU to promote global cooperation among Catholic research universities to advance knowledge and higher education for the common good.
