New Center for the Future of Active Aging-CaixaBank

Tuesday, February 18, 2025. After an intense and competitive review process, CaixaBank has chosen the coalition led by Esade, in partnership with Comillas Pontifical University and the University of Deusto, to carry out this ambitious project with a funding of 5 million euros for the next 5 years. The application process was led by Laura Guillén, in collaboration with Marc Esteve, and supported by the research office and our departments.

The Center for the Future of Active Aging aims to become the reference centre in Spain for the study and analysis of longevity. With a multidisciplinary approach that builds on humanist values, the Center will generate new knowledge based on its own research and in collaboration with other institutions and centres, and will offer top-level training on aging, inclusion and longevity and its impact for managers, employees, companies and society at large, with a special attention to the elderly.

The Center for the Future of Active Aging will combine evidence-based cutting-edge research on the phenomenon of aging, longevity and its social and economic implications, the generation of innovative solutions for an increasingly long-living population, the fight against prejudices, and the promotion of sustainable and positive social impact.

Thanks to the generous support of CaixaBank, Esade can launch this project that not only allows us to continue advancing our commitment to rigorous and relevant academic research but, more importantly, will enable us to make a truly sustainable social impact in society that is aligned with our values and mission.
