Esade Alumni renews board of directors to boost global outreach

Esade Alumni, the association of 83,000 Esade alumni around the world, renews its Board of Directors with a view to bolstering its international outreach and consolidating its global vocation and its role as the go-to network for the Esade community. Jorge Alcover, general director of the Goldman Sachs Global Banking and Markets division, has been appointed president of the association for the next four years. Isabel Ferrer, EMEA marketing director at Mattel, renews her mandate, and Enrique Tombas, president of Suma Capital, joins the Board of Directors as a new member.

Jorge Alcover has a degree and MBA from Esade and an outstanding international track record in finance. He started out in investment banking, working mainly in London and New York, garnering experience in investment banking, capital markets and strategic assessment. Alcover joined Goldman Sachs 19 years ago, and has been general director of the Global Banking and Markets division since 2010. In the course of his career, he has directed major debt management undertakings, capital issuance, and mergers and acquisitions for corporations, banks and public entities in many different regions. His experience combines a robust strategic mindset with a thorough knowledge of both international finance markets and the European business ecosystem.

Alcover has always remained in close contact with Esade Alumni: in 2008 he co-founded the chapter in the United Kingdom with Jaime-Enrique Hugas, which he chaired between 2011 and 2016, fostering its growth, professionalization and ability to connect. He has been a member of the Esade Alumni Board of Directors since 2023 and has now become the president of the association, with a wholehearted commitment to bolstering its international outreach and generating value for Esade’s entire alumni community. “It’s a great honor to be the president of Esade Alumni after taking part in London Chapter. I’m committed to strengthening the global network and enhancing its capacity to create value and generate impact no matter where,” said Jorge Alcover, president of Esade Alumni.

Esade Alumni, a public utility association, promotes the improvement of organizations and society by fostering professional development, links between members, the creation of shared value and having a positive impact on society. The association has a membership of 83,000 alumni, is present on five continents with its transversal and territorial clubs, and boasts a global network of 74 international chapters. One of its main activities is the association’s pro bono consulting program, Alumni Social, which mobilized more than 600 volunteers in support of 47 third-sector social entities, including eight international organizations, in the 2024-2025 academic year. Esade BAN, the Esade Alumni business angel network, evaluated 336 start-ups and funded 27 projects with a total investment of €2.8m. In addition, throughout the year, 547 activities and initiatives were held around the world to promote social and business dialogue and discussion.

Renewals and new members

Isabel Ferrer renews her mandate on the Board of Directors of Esade Alumni. After a career in consulting and FMCG, Ferrer is currently EMEA marketing director at Mattel, where she is the head of the Dolls business unit. The new board member, Enrique Tombas, is the president of Suma Capital, a company specialized in sustainability and impact investing, and he has more than 30 years’ experience in banking and venture capital.
