First meeting of the URL ENGAGE.EU Associate Partners
Friday, September 27, 2024. Representatives of Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona, Manos Unidas, Taula d’Entitats del Tercer Sector Social de Catalunya, Barcelona Global and the Departament de Drets Socials i Inclusió de la Generalitat de Catalunya have held their first working meeting as members of the network of local Associate Partners of Ramon Llull University (URL) in the context of the European alliance ENGAGE.EU.
They met at the URL Rectorate to share the challenges that concern them, such as access to housing, energy poverty, aging, the digital divide, circular economy and climate change.
This way, they were able to establish some transversal focuses to start defining local and international actions according to the particular challenges of each entity.
The ENGAGE.EU alliance gives great importance to the local partners of each university, since they are the ones who know the social needs of the territory and without them it would not be possible to weave together sustainable approaches for the transformation of societies and of Europe as a whole.
“You are society, you are the ones who know the social problems and you are the ones who can tell us on which social challenges we should focus our efforts” summarized Carlo Gallucci, vice-rector for International Relations and Students at URL.
