The URL, best university in Spain in Business and Management and 2nd in Hospitality & Leisure Management, according to the QS Ranking

Thursday, 4 March 2021. The QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021 has once again placed Ramon Llull University (URL) for the third consecutive year among the best universities in the world in Business & Management and Hospitality & Leisure Management.

On one hand, Esade-URL's Business & Management studies are ranked No. 1 in Spain and No. 21 in the world. On the other hand, HTSI-URL's Tourism and Hospitality Management studies are ranked 2nd in Spain and 49th in the world.

The QS World University Ranking by Subject is one of the most prestigious rankings of universities on an international scale and this edition has measured the educational excellence of more than 1,440 educational institutions around the world in 51 disciplines. As for the areas of knowledge, URL has climbed positions compared to last year, ranking 4th in Spain and 107th in the world in Social Sciences & Management out of the 502 institutions ranked.  This area is made up of many of the university's studies as it includes different subjects as: Accounting and Finance, Communication and Media Studies, Education and Training, Business and Management and Hospitality & Leisure Management, among others.

Four criteria are measured for the elaboration of the ranking: the results of more than   94,000 responses from a reputation survey of academics around the world; another reputation survey of employers; the number of citations in scientific publications over a period of five years; and finally, the H Index, which is based on the set of most cited publications and the number of citations that they have received in other scientific articles. Depending on the subjects, the ranking gives a different weight to each of these four indicators.
