Belén Moreu, new president of Esade Alumni
After the four-year term of Maite Barrera, the head of human resources at PepsiCo Southwest Europe is the new president of the association of former Esade students and aims to consolidate the association’s commitment to creating a fairer, more prosperous and sustainable society
Friday, December 3, 2021. Belén Moreu, head of human resources at PepsiCo Southwest Europe, was appointed the new president of Esade Alumni at the last board meeting of the association of former students held on 2 December. The new president, a board member since 2019, takes over from Maite Barrera, the president for the last four years during which time she consolidated Esade Alumni’s commitment to social impact and business progress by adapting the association’s aim and mission and reinforcing its connection with society. Barrera also enlarged the scope of the network by creating new communities such as Young, Senior and Women Empowerment. Maite Barrera will remain a member of the Esade board of trustees.
Belén Moreu, in her capacity as president of the association of former students, explained that “we will continue working to ensure that Esade Alumni inspires, boosts and facilitates the personal and professional development of alumni, and likewise their active participation and contribution of mutual value, and the development of initiatives that have a positive impact on society”. To do so, Moreu emphasised that “we want to keep the network active and connected around the globe”.
Profile and career of Belén Moreu
With a degree in Political Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and an MBA from Esade, she has advanced her career both in Spain and abroad. After 10 years in the Danone Group, she is now head of human resources at PepsiCo Southwest Europe, a company in which she has worked for 13 years in different managerial positions in human resources in Barcelona and Paris.
Previously, Belén Moreu was an associate professor at Esade for 6 years and was already a member of the board of directors of Esade Alumni and of the board of the People Management and Organization Club of the alumni association. Committed to the development of talent, diversity and inclusive and flexible work, she collaborates with Netmentora Catalunya, a non-profit organization that encourages business support for entrepreneurs and the exchange of knowledge.
