Monday, 7 June 2021. Esade Alumni has announced the winner of the ‘2021 Esade Prize’: Ana Botín, president of Banco Santander. Botín will collect her award personally during the Annual Esade Alumni Day on 15 June at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC). This businesswoman has been selected as the winner of this year’s Esade Prize in recognition of her responsible leadership and contribution to greater diversity and inclusion in business, for facilitating access to education and for her great commitment to battling climate change and global challenges.
The Esade Alumni awards committee took into account Botín’s unwavering commitment to social impact throughout her outstanding career, an aim shared by Esade-URL.
On the 25th Annual Esade Alumni Day, Ana Botín will share her experience with the 1,000 Esade alumni in attendance. This event, with maximum covid safeguards, aims to boost business in the city of Barcelona.
The Esade Prizes
The Esade Prizes are awarded by Esade Alumni in recognition of people and organisations whose track record, activities or services feature the values that have embodied the Esade-URL spirit since its foundation, and who are a benchmark and example to others. Winners of previous years include Pablo Isla, Inditex CEO; Mikael Ohlsson, Ikea CEO; Carlos Slim, Inbursa CEO; Indra K. Nooyi, PepsiCo president and CEO; Paul Polman, Unilever CEO; Hiroshi Mikitani, founder, president and CEO of Rakuten, Inc; Enrique Lores, president of HP Imaging, Printing and Solutions; and James Quincey, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.
