Ramon Llull University is the best Spanish university in "Business Administration" according to Shanghai Ranking

Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Ramon Llull University (URL) is placed among the 100 best universities in the world in the field of Business Administration  and is consolidated among the 150 best in the world in Management,  according to the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, published by Shanghai ranking. Specifically, it appears in the 76-100 ranges in Business Administration and in the 101-150 ranges in Management – because from a certain position, universities are grouped in the same bracket.

With these results,  the URL is positioned as the best in Spain in Business Administration and the only Spanish university in this range of positions. Likewise, it also occupies the number 2 in Management in Spain. Apart from the URL as a whole, the ranking also places ESADE-URL Business School among the 100 best worldwide in Business Administration. In Management, it is ranked 151-200 in the world.

This is the fourth edition of this prestigious ranking and it is also the fourth edition in which the URL as a whole and ESADE have been classified.

In order to be analysed in this classification, institutions need a minimum number of scientific publications during the period 2014-2018. In the case of Management and Business Administration there are 50. Subsequently, universities are ranked on the basis of five indicators:

• The number of papers authored by an institution in an Academic Subject in journals with Q1 Journal Impact Factor Quartile during the period of 2014-2018.
• The ratio of citation of papers published by an institution in an Academic Subject during the period of 2014-2018 to the average citations of papers in the same category, of the same year and same type.
• International collaborations in publications.
• The number of papers published in Top Journals in an Academic Subject for an institution during the period of 2014-2018.
• The total number of the staff of an institution winning a significant award in an Academic Subject since 1981.
