IQS – LSE Talks: «The Human-Led, Machine-Enabled University: Rethinking pedagogy, governance and societal impact in the age of AI»

Universities are confronting AI at a moment of profound institutional pressure. Financial constraints, changing expectations from students and employers, new patterns of work and learning, and growing questions about the value and purpose of higher education are challenging established models. AI accelerates the pressures and forces universities to confront fundamental questions about what they teach, how they are governed, and what role they should play in society.

Drawing on LSE’s work on AI and the social sciences, Leila Guerra argues, in this session organized by IQS-URL, for a human-led, machine-enabled university: one in which purpose, judgement and accountability remain human, while AI extends capability, experimentation, and reach.
