IQS-URL is pleased to announce the XII lecture of the ChemBioEng IQS Talks series: “Engineering Biohybrid Protein Systems: From Molecular Design to Application” by Prof. Aitziber L. Cortajarena, Ikerbasque Research Professor and Scientific Director at CIC biomaGUNE.

Prof. Cortajarena, a leading international figure in biomolecular nanotechnology and protein engineering, will explore how nature‑inspired design enables the creation of functional protein-based materials with applications in biotechnology, biomedicine and emerging bioelectronic technologies.

The lecture will present advances in engineered repeat proteins as versatile scaffolds, the design of protein–nanomaterial hybrids with emergent properties, and their translation into theranostic tools and bioinspired technological devices.

Prof. Cortajarena’s pioneering contributions have helped establish protein-based nanostructures as powerful platforms for next‑generation biomedical and technological solutions.
