La Salle-URL Campus Barcelona is hosting a lecture by architect Nicolas Fayad. The founder of EAST Architecture Studio, an award-winning collective studio committed to architectural design and experimental research, is the winner of the 2022 Aga Khan Award. The lecture, part of the School of Architecture's Cooperation Unit, will take place next Monday, May 19, at 3.30 p.m. in the Auditorium, in an open event.

Nicolas Fayad is an architect, educator, and founding partner of EAST Architecture Studio. Under the motto of preservation as practice, the studio develops innovative built environments at various scales, ranging from urban planning to interior design and adaptive reuse, connecting contemporary society with traditional culture. The studio has received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and won the first edition of the AlMusalla Award.

The studio’s work is a testament to a visionary approach and a nuanced interpretation of history and culture, especially in projects like the acclaimed renovation of the Niemeyer Guest House in Tripoli, Lebanon. Its built and research projects have received international recognition and have been featured in prestigious venues such as the 17th and 19th Venice Architecture Biennales, and widely highlighted in publications like Wallpaper Magazine, The Architectural Review, Architectural Record, and The New York Review of Architecture (NYRA).
