10th edition «The Global Annual Energy Meeting» | Event 2: Derisking the Energy Transition
Online
At the 10th edition of the Global Annual Energy Meeting, Esade’s Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (EsadeGeo) is hosting, together with the Representation of the European Commission in Spain and EIT InnoEnergy, a series of events to explore the social, economic and geopolitical impacts of the Fit for 55 legislative package, which aims to enable the EU to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030.
The second event in the series will focus on «Derisking the Energy Transition: Energy Security Amid Traditional and New Risks». A panel of think tank, academic and industry experts will discuss geopolitical, investment, market, industrial and employment risks and solutions related to the Fit for 55 package and the EU’s energy transition more generally.
What risks can be expected to arise in the context of the energy transition that is already in motion and will continue accelerating on the road to climate neutrality by 2050? How may the EU’s energy security be affected and indeed redefined, and what can be done to address this? What strategies is the EU already implementing to mitigate risks associated with the energy transition, and what further strategies can it consider?
