The role of ICT in the transformation of the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital during the COVID19 pandemic

The Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona is one of the hospitals that have been key in the Covid-19 crisis in Barcelona. The pandemic has completely transformed the hospital, and information and communication technologies have been a key factor in the health center. The deputy director of ICT Management explains what the strategy has been used, how the information systems and the new infrastructures and tools have been transformed, as well as new reporting systems that have supported the change.

Marta Carbonell, Senior Telecommunications Engineer and MBA, with more than 20 years of experience in IT in the health area. She currently is the Deputy Director of IT at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. She also is a professor and Tutor of Master's Thesis in the Master in Technology Management and Information Systems at La Salle Campus Barcelona - Ramon Llull University.
