Dr Josep Martí i Roca

Dr Martí i Roca was born in Tarragona. He holds a degree in Physical Sciences from Universitat de Barcelona, a teaching certificate from the same university, a degree in Religious Sciences from the Instituto San Pío X (Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca), a PhD from the University of Valencia and a professorship at the Ramon Llull University (URL). He was a member of the founding Rector Team of the URL (1991-1994), first Vice Rector for Research and Technology Transfer of the URL (1994-2002) and member of the Board of Trustees of the URL (2013-2019).  He was chairman of the Committee for the Acoustic and Electroacoustic Control of the venues of the Barcelona Olympic Games (1992) and head of the Department of Acoustics and head of studies at La Salle-URL. He was principal investigator in different research projects in the field of science and technology and directed different doctoral theses as well as numerous technology transfer projects. From 2002 to 2010 he served as Provincial of La Salle Catalunya. On April 25, 2024 he received the III ACUSTICAT Award in recognition of his professional career in the field of acoustics awarded by the Congrés d'Acústica de Catalunya.

On May 10, 2011 he was awarded the URL Gold Medal.

In November 2019 he joined the Honorary Committee of the URL.
