IQS-URL (Via Augusta, 390. Barcelona)
IQS-URL invites you to the next lecture of the IQS-Cambridge Talks series: "The geography of discontent: how to address the challenge of left-behind places" by Professor Maria Abreu.
Professor Abreu is one of Cambridge’s rising stars in economic geography. Her research focuses on regional inequalities, innovation, and labour mobility, and she has served as a consultant for institutions such as the European Commission, the World Bank, the UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA), and the Department for Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) of Northern Ireland.
In this session, Prof. Abreu will explore the growing discontent in regions left behind by globalisation and technological change, and the policy approaches that can help bridge these divides.
