The Textile Design Foundation (FUNDIT), set up in 1989 to foster a culture of design and provide the necessary teaching and research to create this culture, created the ESDi Higher School of Design during the 1989-1990 academic year. FUNDIT involves the participation of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Ministry of Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sabadell, the Spanish Intertextile Council, and other significant organisations and companies from all the sectors.
